Vessel Survey and Support Solutions, LLC is a maritime consulting firm that specializes in survey planning, preparation and execution.
The founder, Scott R. Kutil has over 25 years of professional experience in the maritime industry. Scott graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and has sailed as an unlimited engineer both deep sea and on private motor yachts. Prior to starting Vessel Survey and Support Solutions, LLC in 2016, Scott worked for eight years as a senior surveyor for the American Bureau of Shipping conducting both Classification and Flag State surveys around the world. From surveying some of the worlds largest cargo ships to mega yachts and even underwater vehicles, Scott's experience in the world of Classification and Flag State Surveys will ensure a smooth and successful survey experience.

We will work with you and your assigned surveyor to prepare a survey plan so that it is understood what surveys are due, and what exactly is required of you. Next we prepare.
Vessel Survey and Support Solutions, LLC will conduct a review of the documentation on board your vessel and help you organize it in a way that will make sense to your surveyor. We will conduct a pre-survey inspection of your vessel and work with you and your crew to examine and test the various systems on board. Any deficiencies noted can then be addressed prior to scheduling attendance with your Class and/or Flag State Surveyor.
Once the vessel is ready, we will work with the attending surveyor and schedule a time for the survey. We will be on board to prepare and set up for the survey prior to surveyor attendance. If the surveyor has any questions or concerns during the survey, we will be there to support you and come up with acceptable solutions.
Time, schedule, cost and peace of mind. In most instances your vessel is running on a tight time schedule. Between owner’s use, charters and short yard periods with long work lists, preparing for a survey can become a secondary thought. This is where Vessel Survey and Support Solutions, LLC becomes your asset. While you are busy dealing with the multitude of tasks at hand, we are ensuring that the vessel is prepared for survey. By preparing in advance of having surveyors attend your vessel you can avoid unexpected deficiencies, which can have a negative impact on your schedule. We can help you select contractors and monitor ongoing work while you are in the yard. We will liaise directly with your surveyor to schedule attendance and carry out the survey. Our goal is to have the surveyor on board for as short a period of time as possible in order to manage survey costs and keep the vessel on schedule.
